The Groves Direct Cremation Options Explained

Unattended Direct Cremation Service    £1149.00

Attended Direct Cremation Service        £1649.00

Fully Inclusive of external Costs

Our Direct Cremation Service provides our most basic service without the compromise of care and dignity.

This service is suitable for funerals where no mourners will attend or if there were to be a memorial service rather than a funeral service.

Our Professional Service

Our staff, service and expertise will be available to you whenever you require, 24 hours a day. We will make all of the necessary arrangements on your behalf. We will prepare, collect and distribute all of the documentation and pay the external costs on your behalf to allow the cremation to legally proceed. We will remain available for any aftercare, advice and guidance as required.

Our meetings to arrange the service are available by appointment, 24 hours a day (to include evenings and weekends) and can take place either here at our funeral home or in the comfort of your own home.

Care of The Person Who Has Died

We will bring the person who has died into our care at the soonest available instance, 24 hours a day. The person who has died will be treated with the utmost care, respect and dignity throughout and will rest within a specific area set aside within our funeral home to ensure an appropriate environment at all times.

We will wash, prepare and dress the person who has died in accordance with your wishes. We will dress them in their own clothes if provided or you may choose for us to provide something suitable. We will follow any instruction given regarding presentation including your wishes on hairstyles or makeup where appropriate. We will take great care of any personal effects.

Visitation of the Person Who Has Died at Our Private Chapel of Rest

You are welcome to visit the person who has died at our Private Chapel of Rest. We ask that the chapel of rest visits are by appointment to ensure the exclusive use of our family room and chapel. Appointments for the chapel of rest can be made within our usual office hours of 9am-5pm. There is no limit to the number of visits made or length of time spent within the chapel of rest.

The Coffin

A simple, yet dignified wood effect coffin will be provided for the person who has died and will be finished with brass effect handles and nameplate. Internally trimmed with a white taffeta lining and pillow.

Handling of The Cremated Remains

The crematorium provide a simple card container in which the cremated remains will rest. Cremated remains can be scattered at the crematorium Garden of Rest or we can collect them on your behalf. If your wish is for us to collect, you can collect them from us, have them delivered to you or we can hold them in our chapel until such a time as you are ready to move forward with their care.

The Day of the Service

The coffin will be discreetly transported to a local crematorium of our choice and will be accompanied by the Funeral Director. When at the crematorium, the coffin will be taken into the chapel by our bearers who will be lead by the Funeral Director. Dignity and respect will be shown throughout with appropriate music played as the Funeral Director and Bearers pause for a moment to acknowledge the coffin; a life lived and lost, before the curtains are closed around the coffin.

Although the cremation is to take place on a date of our choosing, we will inform you of the date and time of the cremation if you so wish.

Please note -The Direct Committal Service does not allow for a funeral service. If a funeral service is required, then The Classic Funeral should be selected.
